Candida Recipes - Yeast Destroying Foods That Taste Good

It's sadly true that 75% of women have a yeast infection at least once throughout life - and it's not slowing down either.

I totally believe that this is the safest 'first step' to take when forming a 'yeastless' food regime.

foods that You Shouldn't Have:

Bread Based Items --

Unluckily, The majority of breads are baked using yeast. If you are content to pay in excess of what regular bread costs then they are no problem to find. More specifically, 'bread' incorporates things such as bagels, cakes and rolls.

Products Based on Sugar --

Sugar and yeast infection must be kept at a safe distance apart if you need to control the amounts of yeast in your body. Sugar will only make your condition worse.

Fruits --

Of course, since we were young we've had it drilled into us that we should eat more fruit - 5 per day no less! Most people don't manage five a day, and if you are someone who isn't very fond of them, it's your lucky day! You should not be eating fruit when you have a yeast infection. But why?

- Fruits are very good for us but they do have a side effect that makes them a problem when you are trying to hold yeast levels down. As fruit is being digested, simple sugars are removed by the digestive tract. While generally good it does cause yeast levels to rise.

Vegetables --

Vegetables ought to be a staple in your diet when you're completely fit, and even more so when you have yeast disease. Although, there is one vegetable you should avoid as it contains yeast:

Alcoholic drinks should be taken completely from your diet – and that also comprises beer and wine (sorry). Alcohol is derived from grains (i.e: Corn) and has sugar and the brewer's yeast.

What You Can Have:

Most people agree that the high complex carbohydrate diet is the most successful against yeast infection. I encourage you to add these foods to your eating routine for a minimum of 1 month, before stopping. The reason is that you have to stay with it long enough for your body to shift. Of course, if you do see great results, keep the diet! (And go very easy on your 'guilty pleasures'.) Essentially, have one meal of fish/meat or chicken (protein) a day, and eat as many vegetables as possible. Begin the high-vegetable diet.

Yogurt --

The yogurt that makes a difference may have a high price tag but it's going to relieve some of your symptoms and bring the time it takes to recover down a large amount. By yogurt WITH friendly bacteria only. Try these as well:

- Porridge, quinoa - RyVita dry breads

Vegetables --

Eat veg like you would eat sweets in a sweet shop - pretend to like them if you must! And if you want to get the most out of your veg, eat them completely raw. This is because vital goodness is actually lost when you boil vegetables.

- Garlic – This ancient solution was used as far back as the Egyptians so it's got to benefit something. Yes, they can reward you with terrible breath, but chopped up they go lovely in a bowl of soup.

- Onion – Onions are antifungal and provide sulphur which assists to control yeast levels.

Herbs --

I think everyone should have a herb garden myself. They are fun to grow, fun to eat and most definitely good for you.

- Basil – contains antifungal oils.

- Cumin – once again has antifungal oils.

- Oregano - These famously pungent leaves are a welcome extra to ommlettes.

Meat --

Fish, poultry and anything similar. Stick with fresh, organic meat, and free of antibiotics (if the budget permits).
